A rail crossing is a dangerous place demanding attention and concentration. Trains are relatively fast and very heavy – that’s why it is very difficult to stop it suddenly. Because of their huge weight, they cause drastic damage to anything in a collision.

Some think there’s so much drawing attention measures rail crossings equipped with so it’s not hard to notice a train approaching and avoid a car accident. It’s partially true but there are many ‘buts’ and ‘ifs’ here: not all trains whistle at crossings, not all crossings equipped with sound and/or lighting notification devices, many kinds of distraction like cell phones, music, other people can pull your attention away from driving. It is very important to stay focused on driving when you approaching a rail or another type of crossing – places where tho most collisions usually happen.

Be careful. Drive Safe.
