The real winter storm actually came in spring. The storm covered Toronto in around 18 centimeters of snow has turned roads into a skating rinks causing hundreds of car collisions and accidents on Wednesday continuing into Thursday.

Most of car crashes in icy road conditions are caused by people who driving too fast not considering dangerous situation.

Trevor Tenn (transportation services of Toronto) says the cleanup continues into Thursday, at least 12 p.m., before most of the streets are cleared.

“It takes about 16 hours after the storm has ended to plow the local streets,” Tenn said, adding it would be helpful if people held off on calling 311 until the plowing has been done.

The weather is still cold so the ice is not going to melt soon
